Plagiarism

MAO takes the issue of plagiarism of intellectual property very seriously. Plagiarism is defined as the verbatim copying or paraphrasing of ideas or words without properly citing the author or the source. This includes, but is not limited to, verbatim copying of another author’s words but not differentiating the text from one’s own, with or without proper citation, copying equations, diagrams, processes, results or computer codes that are not common knowledge, without proper citation, and verbatim copying or extensive reuse of one’s own previously published work, without proper citation.

Not only is plagiarism a serious breach of professional and ethical conduct, it may also be in breach of copyright and intellectual property laws. MAO will investigate every allegation of plagiarism.

If a paper that has been submitted for a MAO conference has been plagiarized in whole or in part, the paper will be rejected, and the author(s) will be prohibited from submitting papers to MAO conferences in the future.
All authors are deemed to be responsible for the content of the papers that have been submitted to MAO.
