Lance Manning, MBA is a business development and technology commercialization professional experienced in promoting health IT and medical innovations. Since 2007, he has served as an expert advisor for National Science Foundation grant applicants seeking to graduate from $100K awards to $500K. He also leads funding and thought leadership efforts for projects in health-care automation and research ROI. Prior to 2007, he assisted military and CEO clients in these areas: EMR/EHR/PHR, point-of-care diagnostics, telemedicine, surgical robotics, regenerative medicine, geriatric syndrome screening, and predictive informatics. Support was rendered through market analysis for emerging technologies, partnership and alliance creation, and public policy. Also, Manning led consulting activities for the advanced biomedical technology program manager at the U.S. Department of Defense (DARPA) with research projects funded at $40M. Fifty researchers on three project teams were tasked with the challenge of making soldiers' injuries more survivable through robotic, surgical, and diagnostic technologies. Technology transfer milestones resulted in improved military medical care and national healthcare standards that are more personal, preventive, and predictive.
